It controls speed, it does not add power. The top of the dial is whatever your wand already does on high, nothing more. It also only works with corded 110v wands that plug into the wall, so rechargeable and battery models are out. On the lowest settings some wands buzz a little rougher than they do on their own switch, and the dial is analog, so you're going by feel instead of numbers. It fits most corded two speed wands sold in the US that run on 110v, including the classic full size plug-in models. If yours sits on a charging base or takes batteries, this controller won't do anything for it.

Does it make my wand stronger?

No. It fills in the whole range underneath high, which is what most people are actually missing. Maximum output stays the same as the wand's own high setting.

Can I use it in the bath or shower?

No. It's a corded electrical device and needs to stay dry, along with your hands and the outlet. Keep it out of the bathroom entirely.
